[MW:33589] FW: 33587] Black dots on sdss welding

Hi Narayanan,

Please refer the discussions and the answers provided the following link. The spots may appear due to few issues:

  • Type of lubricants used during wire drawing of the GTAW filler wires. Typically oil based lubricants if used could generate such residues, while soap type lubricants  may not.
  • Surface finish of the SDSS. If the products are acid cleaned & pickled after manufacturing the chances of such welding dross would be less.

Irrespective of those facts, the discussions in this following link are worthwhile to look at.

Thanks.
