[MW:29465] what's exact meaning of weld deposit?

Dear All

I need to know real meaning of "weld deposit"

   According to ASME IX does however define ''weld metal is Metal in fusion weld consisting of that portion of the base metal and filler metal melted during welding.

To my understanding Weld deposit is mean Weld metal, Is that correct?

Please let me know the exact meaning of " weld deposit" and references says the definition.
