It is better to prepare a but-weld test coupon.
Then weld it according to your WPS.
Remember to record all the parameters during welding.
Then send your coupon to lab and specify the standard and required tests (and conditions of tests like impact test temp).
Wait for the results.
When you receive the results if they are all accepted then fill out PQR form and receive all parties signatures as per your ITP.
If your tests have rejected sample, then you have to go for re-tests or prepare a new coupon with modified WPS and repeat all over again.
