My dear, I answer the part of ASME, by D1.1 I do not know.
ASME: The 6GR position is not contemplated in ASME IX, you can check the Code and you will see that there is no such thing as 6GR (in D1.1 if the 6GR position is handled), when a WPS qualifies with ASME IX, it does not matter if This is done in 1G, it is valid to be used in all positions, but to the welder if you have to qualify in the position or positions that your project requires, many prefer to qualify in 6G to cover all positions.
What is your Construction Code?
