--Dear Experts,Our customer is forcing us to do multilayer welding for 6mm throat size, which is increasing our welding time because most of welding is in a6 size.I have tried so many test coupon to prove that a6 can be done by single layer but I am not succeed in all test.Customer requirement is root penetration at least 0.3 mm. But I am not able to achieve it. refer following parameters which I have used.
- Welding process :- GMAW
- Filler Wire :- ER 70 S6 (1.2 mm dia)
- Shielding gas :- 80 % Argon + 20 % Co2
- Current :- 245-255 Amp
- Voltage :- 26.5 to 27.5
- Travel speed :- 220 - 240 mm/min
Please advise any modification is required in the parameters.Should I change Shielding gas composition?Waiting for your valuable reply?Thank youVijay Katkar
