[MW:25962] Usage of A36 blind for Pneumatic (Nitrogen ) testing

Actually we are planning to carry out Pneumatic test of one of the BAHX (Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchanger ) at 76 bar  (design pressure ). The test will be done by using Nitrogen. The nozzle material at IN and OUT is 304L. The A36 material has been used as end blinds for testing purposes which will be later cut out. The weld consumable used is 309L. The thickness of the blind has been rightly calculated as per the thickness of nozzle and pressure.

Query : The Nitrogen operating temperature will be much below -150F. My question is whether A36 is the right material chosen for the test blinds? This blind will be used only for temporary purpose and the total testing time including filling will be completed within 4 hours.

Hope to see your as usual support for the members of material group and looking forward for a quick response.

Thanks and Regards
