For GMAW, no code/std restricts on weaving width

Dear,

6mm throat fillet with single layer will leads to more weaving.
As a general thumb rule, weaving should not be more than 3 times of electrode dia.
Weaving leads to increase chances of crack and decrease the toughness in welding. Means leads to weak welding.

In short, for 6 mm fillet weld, u have to do first root weld and then multi weld over it.

Multi layer welding, gives strength to weld. It is always be good.

Prasad
