[MW:23702] RE: 23700] Partial weld completion

Refer ASME b 31.1, it says 10 per of the weld thickness shall be completed.......

Dear Experts,
Please advice what the minimum butt weld passes or weld % shall comleted before leave the weld to cool to imbient temperature and the practice to do if exist such as preheat and surface test, design code API1104.
I believe that as per DEP Shell Spec. It allow the weld after third pass to cool to imbient temp. without mention any such practice.
