[MW:23829] Re: composition manganese less than requirment of ASTM A36

Dear Tran,

As for your doubts for carbon steel plates A36,in my opinion, there is no big problem.A36 is just one kind common carbon structural steels.Sometimes,it is replace by steel grade ASTM A283Gr.C(this steel's Mn has no Min.limited, just as Max.0.90%) for many end users.

If you want to know more chemical composition and mechnical property for ASTM A283GrC steel, you also can find on http://www.xinsteel.com/astm-a283-a283m/a283-grade-c.html

So you had better talk with the engineers from your end customer for this point, hope they would accept.Good luck.

Dear All,

Please help me in PMI testing for material ASTM A36 thickness over 20.0mm, the composition requirement of manganese is (0.8 – 1.2)%. But result of test is less than 0.8%. Other testings are accepted (tensile, bending, elongation).

Please advice me this result is accepted or not.

If not, please advice the solution.

Thank you in advance.
