Re: [MW:17601] Regarding Kereosene Leak test

Dear Vinod

Thnaks for Suggestion ,

ButI have One Doubt , If you waited 24 hours On chock Surface for inspection.
There shall be possiblity to vaporize spray kerosense or Warsol in environment During 24 hours.
so no body inspector will allow  24 hours to inspect .

so as per my oponion , three hours is maximum time  for any liquid to comeout from  leak surface. and UP to 3 hours we can wait .

if you have any Concern on these  topic .let me know.

Thank You Very Much

Regards

Friends
Even kerosene is not allowed from environment or safety reasons.
In USA they use Warsol (kerosene like light gravity solvent).
If kerosene is not a concern you can apply white chalk (white wash) in outer periphery, fill with low gravity liquid eg kerosene and check outer surface after 24 hours.
If there is a leak, you will visually find dark wet spots.

It is generic test. just check for the leak on the otherside.
Alternative is Smoke bomb test (but presenlty not much in use)
