Dear Siva,
Screening refer to the visual examination of the weld joint for any corrosion product like rust, scale present on the external surface.
Each NDE technique has its own limitations in determining the corrosion on the external surface of the weld ment (weld metal,base metal and HAZ).
I can suggest you to pl. go through API RP 571 for your particular type of corrosion and methods to check it.

UT can detect the defects like crack, lack of fusion, LOP etc. in the weldment but not the
