Dear,

Plz confirm, the Heat treatment of Cladded ring is necessary , my production engineer has recommended that we can use a local arrangement to cool the Ring at the time of cladding.

Cooling arrangement shall be - Water cooled by dipping the ring in the water tub.Heat is absorbed  by cooling water.

Plz recommend is it possible.

Vineet

Dear Experts,

I have to made SS-304L Cladding on Inner Dia. of Carbon Steel ring , below are the details:

Base Metal - SA 516 Gr.70

ID-490 mm , Thk-150 mm

Stainless Steel (304L)Cladding , thk- 5 mm finish

Plz furnish my queries-

1) Method / process of Cladding. You can use GTAW or FCAW as per your availabilty of Automatic ID overlay facilty

2) Filler Wire/Electrode--E309LT1 for barrier +E308LT1 for subsequent layer if FCAW   and ER309L +ER308L for GTAW process

3) Heat treatment--For CS Pipe PWHT at Soaking tmp of 600-620C for 1hr soaking time which willbe suitable  up to 20Hrs soaking time

Howevr you require to qualify PQR to decide the height at

undilted chemistry of 308L is achieved from base of overlay

Regards,

Vineet Kumar
