HiI understand that nozzle with insert plate means as per Fig UW-14 f1 through UW-14 f4,If stiffening ring overlaps the insert plate (integrally reinforced Nozzle), it should not be a problem as you can directly weld over the insert plate. If welds overlap the welding of insert plate with shell, you have to flush grind the portion of the weld, then shoot RT and then weld the stiffening ring, do some surface NDT after welding the stiffer ring.MurugesanOn Tue, Aug 9, 2011 at 11:56 AM, Joshi <joshi@knm-group.com> wrote:
--Dear All,
Request your kind expert advice on below query.
Vessel have Nozzle with Insert plate. External pressure stiffener ring is passing over Insert plate. Is this allowed as per code? Can we notch the stiffener ring to suit the insert plate shape outside vessel? Shift of Stiffener ring is not possible to no space available..
Request your prompt positive advise.
Thanks and best regards
Joshi
