Your steel IS 2062 Gr.D E450 (Fe570),more details available with SAIL salem plant, since they manufacture the same. Since its Min.UTS is 570N/mm2 which is equal to 82672 Psi, try your welding with ER80S-D2 for GMAW and E8018-G for SMAW use quality filler metals of Lincoln or Esab.make ,then go for Destructive test like UTS,Yield,Impact etc..(It has the carbon equivalent below 0.5 no need of any heat treatment.)

Hi friends
We are using IS 2062 Gr.D E450 (Fe570) for a structural bridge fabrication work in India. The welding process to be used is SMAW and GMAW.
I would like to know the correct SMAW and GMAW consumable for welding IS 2062 Gr.D because very limited information is available about this steel.
ASME Sec IX 2011 addenda has included IS 2062 Gr A,B and C in P1 G1 category but still this steel is an unassigned one till date.
I would be using ER80S-D2 for GMAW and E8018-G for SMAW during PQR, is the selection correct ?
