Subject: [MW:15363] Impact test requirement as per ASME SEC VIII Div I

Dear members,

I have following points to be clarified, please give your expert advise.

1) I have to do Procedure Qualification test as per ASME Sec. IX on a test coupon having 8 mm thk with Impact test at  -38 degree C, after machining the specimen size may be reduced to 10 x 5 x 55 or 10 x 6 x 55, in this case at what temperature I have to do 'V' notch  impact test and what will be the acceptable toughness value  as per ASME SEC VIII Div. I.

2) If we do procedure qualification test with impact test on P1 Gr. 2 to P1 Gr. 2  materials can I use this procedure qualification to weld P1 Gr 2 to P1 to Gr. 1 as per ASME Sec. IX.

Thanks in advance

Manoj
