Any subsequent pass after previous pass in tig process could be considered as omalising pass and generally considered in repair welding. Edge overlap is app. 1 to 1-5 mm to avoid umdercuts at the edge and avoid premature failures during uts. bend tests. Sridhar

Can you kindly clarify if the last weld pass is the normalise pass, then how much distance it should be from the edge of the groove. Is there any standard to give the distance in details.
why such a distance need to be maintained.
