RE: [MW:13822] clarification for UT

Dear Veera raghava,

I'm saying about weld joints in the pipe line (full penetration butt weld)

And further if required to eliminate dead zone we can go up to 1.5V to 2 V
skip distance as per my view,

Than what is the difficult for UT,

Regarding ASTM A 435, that the doc itself is for plates, and straight beam,
however my query is about angle probes and to identify welding defects.

Basic reasons - Due dead zone effect it is difficult get desired results.
If you look at ASME 435, it also recommends UT for plate thk above 12.5 mm.
