[MW:11223] RE: 11202] Welding consumable for CD3Mn

Mr. Prabhu,

CD3Mn is the cast form of duplex 2205, with Cu(1% max). As you know 2005 is the workhorse of duplex family and is relatively easier to weld, than other duplex alloys. However cast structures may not be all that easy to weld and to get the required properties. Based on the extent of welding and clients' requirement one may have to perform solution anneal(as required).

By default SFA 5.4 E-2209 is the most matching electrode, and should have a guaranteed copper addition of 0.75% max  in the weld.Otherwise weld may lack corrosion resistance in strong acid medias.

The following literature might be of interest to you(see the highlighted text).

Thanks.
