Re: [MW:26802] Welder Qyalification for ASME B 31.3

Hi

I believe the sentence was taken from your project specification.

Based on my understanding/ interpretation, the welder test coupon shall be bend tested for his qualification.

Only by Radiography testing the welder will not be qualified.

With kind regards

The employer has at least one currently employed welder or welding operator who, while in his employ, has satisfactorily passed a performance qualification test using the procedure and the P-Number material specified in the WPS. The performance bend test required by Section IX, QW-302 shall be used for this purpose. Qualification by radiography is not acceptable.
