Dear All,
Welding consumables manufacturer [ER70S-2 & ER70S-6] has not stated in TC's that material complies to NACE MR0175 or not. As per my knowledge requirement as per NACE is
The welding consumable shall produce weld Zones meeting Hardness requirement of 250HV10. The Nickel in the welding consumable shall be less than 1%. Welding consumables and procedures that produce a deposit containing more than 1% nickel are acceptable after successful weld SSC qualification by testing in accordance with Annex B.
Also I would like to understand meaning of this line Welding consumables and procedures that produce a deposit containing more than 1% nickel are acceptable after successful weld SSC qualification by testing in accordance with Annex B.
Does that mean that if nickel is less than 1% [ 0.023% in my case] then I do not require any test as per Annex B of NACE and only carry out Hardness test and if its less than 250HV10 then its acceptable?
How can I satisfy my client that consumables available with me is NACE compliant
Regards,
Ankur
