[MW:26826] Re: special requierment in NACE electrode

Dear James,

Your reply on subject was really helpful. I just wanted to discuss a case of NACE MR0175

Suppose if Welding wire manufacturer (ER70S-2 & ER70S-6) has not specified any NACE compliance in MTC and if weld Zones meeting Hardness requirement of 250HV10 then does that STILL mean that we comply NACE requirements?

Also I would like to understand more of this statement; Welding consumables and procedures that produce a deposit containing more than 1% nickel are acceptable after successful weld SSC qualification by testing in accordance with Annex B. But what if Nickel is less than 1%? Does that mean that SSC is not required if Nickel is less than 1% ?

Would love to hear from you
