Dear All,

We have a AWS D1.1; WPS / PQR in 2G Position.

Based on this 2G-WPS, can we qualify a welder in 3G position as per AWS D1.1 so that he get qualification in flat, horizontal & vertical position; whenever we get WPS qualified in 3G position in future; no need to qualify welder separately for 3G position at that time; he can start welding as per that  3G WPS straight away

Kindly respond with Code / standards reference.

Thank you so much

With Best regards

Ahmed
