A 20% carbon di oxide mix in a 80% argon usually works best in spray transfer mode in w position so you would need to ensure that you aren't using short circuiting mode which is resulting in large amount of spatters. In case you're welding thin sheets or doing out of position welding you may have to consider changing the gas mixture

Dear all,--
What shielding gas should be used for the pulsed GMAW welding of carbon steel? When trying with 80%Ar+20%CO2 mixture I am getting a lot of spatters. The welding used is Automatic welding with Robotic machine.Any recommendations???
