I could guide you on Div.1 as i am working on it.
If you refer ASME Sec.VIII Div.1, UW-9 - Design of welded joints, the distance between long seams is mentioned as:
Center line of long seams of two shells courses shall be staggered by at least 5 times the thickness of thicker plate. This may be reduced if T-Junction is radiographed 100mm length of each long seam.
Similarly you can refer Div.2
