Re: [MW:13737] For expiration of welders for WPQ

Dear Mr.Ankit,

Upon satisfactory performance of the welder you can renew his qualification for every six month without re-qualification. But if the welder has the gap of more than six month in welding or any question arises on his performance, then the welder should be requalified to demonstrate his skills and ability.

Subject: [MW:13725] For expiration of welders for WPQ

Dear Experts,

I have confusion about validity for the welder qualification.

As per ASME Sec-IX, QW-322, When welder has not welded withe process
during the period of 6 months or more his qualification for that
process shall expire unless within 6 months period prior to his
expiration of qualification.

i have doubt that if welder is doing welding for particular process
since 1 yr under my supervision, the will i need some renewal?

shall the welder expired or not within 6 months period if he is doing
welding for particular process:

Kindly justify this clause

Regards,

Ankit Khatri
