because you speaking about immidiate immersion.....so when quench
hardening your steel it must be in the range of 920 degrees
celcius.Soak time (time how long the metal must be heated)depends on
thickness ......usually one hour for 25mm thickness and after that
immersion can take place in oil or water.
after that you need to temper it for toughness and thickness at 550 to
700 degrees celcius and air cool.same apply to thickness of material
25mm for one hour....
