[MW:8763] Welder qualification with backing

Dear colleagues
Please explain me that we are having WPS (D 1.1) with back gauging.
Based on this WPS can we qualify a welder with backing strip test coupon ?,
I know that the welder any how qualified with backing, my question is whether we need separate WPS with mentioned backing strip or not.
