The 410S material is basically a Martensitic Stainless steel .The microstructures is not prone to Sensitization .
ASTM E 262 - Austenitic
ASTM E763 - Ferritic grade
So it is not covered under either E 262 OR 763.
410S has lower Carbon so the hardness is moderate
As per my opinion , the MOC is being selected in view of primarily because of elevated temperature Service and not for corrosive media ( the corrosion medium could be a mild corrosive media ). Also it has more erosion resistance at elevated Temperature .
Pl. discuss with your Process Specialist and discuss about Service Environment . Corrosion testing is not required .
The Erosion resistance at certain operating temperature is a primary objective .

Dear Experts ,We are using SS410S CLAD in Coke Drum at 450 degree temp.
Is IGC test required for SS410S material ? at present there is no requirement of IGC testing for SS410S in coke drum cladding in industry .As per my understanding, IGC happens in ferritic SS as well if they are exposed to high temp(450 in my case) in operation , welding or PWHT. So why SS410S is not tested for IGC as per A763 ?
How IGC is different in ferritic SS than in Austenitic SS ?Thanks and Regards,Ronak Patel.
