RE: [MW:30182] Hydrotest of Pipings

Hello,

NDE(RT) and Hydrotest both having different purpose.

NDE are carried out to ensure the defect free joints and hydrotest is carried out for strength well as leak test.

NDE we are only doing at weld and their HAZ area. However before putting in the system complete piping system need to be tested.

Incase of golden/ closure weld where Hydrotest is not possible there 200 NDE shall be carried out but this is not applicable for all the joints.

Never ,

selection for RT 100% not mean no hydro test , only for golden joint which for few case hydro test not possible.

what ever you need you have to cover by Clint specification  and owner approval

Dear Experts,

Kindly confirm whether we have did RT 100% -weld joints for the piping means no need of hydro-test.

If yes share the code reference.

Code of Construction : ASME B31.3
