Re: [MW:30120] Hot form dishead.

Thanks for valuable reply.
If cold forming than pwht, hot forming normalized with ucs85. >5% , upto40%, 5% with any of five condition adressed pwht if cold formed, if hot formed normalizing with ucs85. That's it..

Hi
Code never address the temp.of hot forming
Generaly Hot forming is carried above Ac3 temp.i.e.about 900c and continue till say up to 850c This is judgment Till its plastcity is comfortable for forming
In this case you may not require Post heat treatment as code has not addressed  This you may req to convince surveyor

Second one is warm.forming say about 550 c It depends upon the configuration depth of DEnd also depends upon thk actual yield strength etc In this case Het treatment is essential after forming

hi i need some info as per experience and asme sec8 div1..
1.if dishead is cold form and fe >5% than pwht to be done ucs 79
2.if pwht required for vessel fe can be upto40% ucs79
3.if fe>5% and dish head is hot formed ...
Q-1. Is it compulsory that hot forming should be done at temprature above lower critical temprature?
Q-2 if temprature is more than 480 than normalizing to be done for hot forming dish head with ucs 85 simulation test coupon?
Q-3 at what thickness hot forming, cold forming to be done dnt use the Eil specification?
Q-4 if dish head is hot formed fe>5% than also only pwht to be done as per ucs 79
