Dear experts,
I have query regarding welder qualification for sockolet welds. A 24" header pipe to be welded with 3/4" CL6000 sockolet. (Spec. A105N MSS SP-97). Based on MSS SP-97 thickness calculation of 3/4" CL6000 is 12.7mm. Full GTAW process to be used for this joint and my welder qualified for 11.08 maximum thickness only. Can I use this welder for this joint. As everybody knows this is a groove fillet weld and how to calculate the groove thickness for this joint. Any code reference is for that. Please advice me.
Regards,
Linoy
