Hi Deepak,

 

There is no way you can avoid slag going to otherside-in fact purpose of a flux-cored TIG filler  is to produce fluid slag acting deemed purging.

 

I would suggest you may look at the attached PDS of Avesta 316L/SKR -4D electrodes recommended for such applications.

Dear All

 

I need to do some repair works in 316L pipes. So purging in these pipes are a problem and so am planning to use R316LT1-5 from the manufacture kobelco. Welding process is TIG. As per the manufacture R316LT1 does not requires any purging and can do the root run using the filler wire. But slag will be formed in the back side of the root. IS there any way to remove these  slags as it is drinking water line.
