[MW:21403] Hard facing overlay on gate valve's Wedge

dear all,

we are trying to only repair gate valve wedge's hardfaced area (which contacts with seat rings) of 8" gate valve.  wedge material is carbon steel (A216 WCB). wedge harfaced area became less thick due to wear.

1) can we remove original overlay and apply 13%chrome overlay ? in this case which welding rod should we apply. if yes can you please send me WPS for this ?

2) we can not able to trace the original harfaced material b'se it is old valve. PMI  is showing Ni- 51% , Fe-25% and Cr- 18 %. what is this material ?

your urgent reply is appreciated.

thanks,
