Hello Sam,
A quick response to your query. Please the salient differences between F53 and F51 as attached. Although both alloys are classified under P-10H, Gr-1. Sec-IX , equivalency formula does not always work for DSS/SDSS.This is due to the facts that these alloys are always used in services, where common materials fail.
What're the design requirements?? Is there a requirement of ASTM G48A Pitting corrosion test, ASTM -262,IGC test??Is so what practice?
Appreciate your response.
Thanks

dear all,
i am reviewing WPS/PQR for SDSS production welding of A182 F53 material as per Section IX. it is for 3/4" valve body to flange.
1) Valve manufacturer has submitted WPS/PQR of only DSS which is between A182 F51 (P no. 10H) to A890 4A (P no. not available). Also in wps it mentions No any P number available for A890 4A.
can i accept this WPS/PQR for welding Super duplex SS while there is huge difference between their chemical properties ? can i accept WPS while one material without P number ? can u please provide section IX clause if it accepts WPS material without P number.
2) same job will be done with backing strip which will be removed by machining after welding. requirement is 100% RT. my question is this RT shall be done after baking strip removal or before ?
thanks in advance for your reply.
regards,
