Re: [MW:21217] Interpretation of Mandatory Appendix II of ASME Sec. IIA Ed. 2013.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your prompt response. Further, this MTR certifies Tensile value in Kg/mm2. Is it NC in accordance with Cl. No. 1.3 of SA 106 of ASME Sec. II Part A. I think it shall be in MPa.

Thanks & regards,

C. R. GANDHI

It all depends on how you write your manual.
There is no need to raise NCR, just recertification is good enough.
If you write in QCM that you will raise NCR for such non-compliance, yes then you need to raise NCR, else no.

Dear Experts,

Good day to all.

Please explain me the correct interpretation of Cl. No. II-200 of Mandatory Appendix II of ASME Sec. IIA Ed. 2013. Actually, we are using SA 106 Gr. B pipes of ASME SA 106 2011a and construction code is ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 Ed. 2013. Basis on II-200 (b) & (d) of Appendix-II, can I directly accept and recertify this MTR after comparing with SA 106 2013 Ed. or I have to raise a NCR? I think I can directly recertify and accept this MTR. In case, if pipe MTR is ASTM A 106 2011a, then I shall have to raise a NCR, comparasion to be prepared for acceptance of MTR.

Please respond me at the earliest to clear my understanding.

Thanks & regards,

C. R. GANDHI
