Hello Brajendra,
E-2209 is not the correct electrode for repairing ASTM A 890 Gr CD4MCuN casting. One has to use exactly matching or over matching welding consumable for welding of this alloy. See the Metrode attached data sheet for your reference. The other option is to use the matching Zeron 100 electrode.
The attached data sheet from Flowserve gives a full overview of this alloy. CD4MCuN is the improved version of CD4MCu. Weldability could be an issue for this alloy, as it's a casting and the mechanical properties could be unfavorable without solution anneal.
Duplex S.S melting and refining is clean process, as this involves AOD or VOD during manufacturing. I would suggest to incorporate proper surface cleanliness prior to performing any welding. Casting would involve the traces of chemicals involved in manufacturing of the mould . Removal of these substances prior to welding might be of help.
Thanks.
