[MW:2718] RE: 2717] Re: New PQR for 7018 or 7016 if using 7018-1?

Mr. K. Babu and Ali,
Thank you for your advice. It sounds like if impacts aren't a requirement
then I would not need to run a new PQR but if they are, then I might be able
to convince the client that E7018-1 should be accepted since it has a lower
temperature impact.

Thanks.

Hi,

With ref. table 4.6 of D1.1 clause 3 , the change in the AWS classification
is essential variable.

As per my understanding, E7018-1 is impact at -45 Deg.Cel; If you want to
use the E7018 , you need to qualify the New PQR to prove the impact
requirement at -45 Deg.Cel

Since E7018 impact is -27 deg. cel. , ultimately you need to qualify.

It slightly conflict with code, but you need to resolve logically.

K.Babu

I'm a little unclear of the AWS D1.1 code. If I have already run a
PQR with E7018-1, do I need to run a new PQR if I intend to use
E7018
or E7016 in the same joint?
