Hello dear colleagues,
-- I hope this email finds you well
Code: ASME IX
In order to qualify a WPS, one client proposed to me to weld and qualify only one PQR test plate composed of 2 plates with 2 different thicknesses (12,5 x 9,5mm).
Does this proposal make any sense, regarding obtaining more open qualifications in terms of Base Metal thickness, I mean, 1.5 to 25mm?
My belief is that must be welded 2 test plates 9,5 x 9,5mm and 12,5 x 12,5mm.
Is my interpretation of 2 different plates, too rigorous and narrow-minded?
Thanks in advance.
