Dear Expert,

we need to weld the API 5L X70 grade pipe and using the  electrode 6010 for root, While tensile strength  of the 6010 electrode is 430 MPa while tensile strength of X70 grade is (570 to 760)MPa. So tensile strength of 6010 is lower than x70.For hot pass, filling and capping we are using 9010.

Please provide your expert opinion that we can use the electrode having low tensile strength than the base metal  and if yes kindly give the reason
