Re: [MW:28192] radiography to be consider for thinner plate or thicker plate

As API-650, 8.1.2.2

For butt-welded joints in which the thinner shell plate is greater than 10 mm (3/8 in.) but less than or equal to 25 mm (1 in.) in thickness, spot radiographs shall be taken according to Item a. In addition, all junctions of vertical and horizontal joints in plates in this thickness range shall be radiographed.
In your condition thinner plate is 10 mm, No need 100% RT.

Dear Gentleman,
Please clarify the below doubt,
As per API 650 above 10 mm thickness shall be 100% radiograph to be
done for all T joints. When the joint between two dissimilar thickness
means 10mm & 12 mm what thickness we have to consider for radiography
whether 10mm or 12mm.

Thanks & Regards

N.Kiran kumar,
