The impeller rings not to be welded if there are more cracks, because you can't get surface perfection then you will experience the imbalance and the impeller will further get damaged and ultimately purpose will not be solved.
Yes, only one option if you want to go for cold repairs in case of emergency and nonavailability of the resources for building up.

Have several cracks on the wear rings of a Goulds pump Impeller.  PMI has been performed and rings have been identified as --17-4 Ph.  The impeller itself is a mild c/s.
Have no references on welding these two metals together?  Any ideas or procedures?
