Re: [MW:26064] Welding of Low alloy to Stainless Steel

What is thickness?. If it is less than 13mm, u can directly weld. If thickness is greater than 13mm, buttering and sr to be done on P5A side and then weld with P8

It is better to do Buttering.

Dears,

Please give your valuable guidance.

I have weld joint between P5A to P8 materials, using nickel base consumable.
Before start this butt joint, is it mandatory to do buttering on P8 material ? or we can weld direct butt joint groove between these two materials. (SA387 GR22 CL2 or SA240 TP304L)

Thanks,
Regards,
Shaunak Upadhyay.
