Sometimes the philosophy of constructability and or operability is
complete remote operated. The numbers of repair can be as per owner's
requirements and considerations. E.g. if equipment / component of AISI
4130 steel and it is installed in remote place / desert where the
facilities are unmanned / unattended. It, the joint, should not be
repaired at all for safety reasons mentioned above (unmanned).
Multiple repair of AISI 4130 may result in consequences that cannot be
controlled and very difficult to control release of hazardous fluid /
chemical in equipment.
Separate lengths are joined by connectors, normally made of AISI 4130
steel. In non-corrosive environments these are protected by nickel
plating on the surface. For corrosive environments it is preferable to
weld-overlay the entire surface with Alloy 625.
Its' high-strength properties at high temperatures, AISI 4130, a
chromium -molybdenum alloy steel, is used in automotive like
experimental airplanes, racing car frames, roll cages, go-carts,
Bicycles and motorcycle frames. Other uses include petrochemical and
steam-tubing applications. Typically, this alloy contains about 0.30
percent carbon.
it is better to fabricate 1st time right and it must be flawless, perfect.
