Re: [MW:26044] Towice the PWHT for the same weld joints

Hi!
As per ASME code
What you have done is not objectionable as per ASME code
i.e. If the joint is not soaked as per code requirement at at rn such caseequired soaking temp.
In such case you can reheat and soak at required time and temp.
You can refere UCS 56 of ASME code

Dear Experts,

Good day.

Regarding the mentioned subject, we have done PWHT for 2" SCH XS socket joint caustic line. Job was in service piping based on MOC there was heat treatment requirement.

Now problem is that during PWHT cycle due to the power breakdown cycle was uncompleted.  Temperature were reached up to 610°C job was interrupted before starting the holding time.

As per that particular shift Inspector's instruction job was restarted form 150°C and completed the job.

The next shift inspector is rejecting the job and asking to replace those particular fittings (elbows).

According to the above details, Please clarify is it acceptable multiple times of PWHT in the same weld joint or the fittings should be changed.

I hope that I have given enough details and looking for your valuable replies.

Thanks & Warm Regards,
