What you say is completely different.
F number is another essential variable and can not be confused with impact test requirements which are arising from the design and construction Code Section.
When you define welding requirements you start from the design and construction Code Section and not from the Section IX.

Hello all,
Thanks for update,
Let me make my concern clear,
I got a document from net, in that Mr. Sperko ( he may be a part of ASME): refer attachment
He states that, as per QW404.12, CHANGING FROM E7018 to E7018-1, IS NOT AN EASSENTIAL, in that he clearly states that, u can use without re-qualification.
Kindly note that Qw404.12 In ed. 2015 is same as in 2015 ed.
Refer Attachment: changes to asme ed. 2015.
Regards
Mahesh

Dear Mahesh,
No. For colder side you should have to qualify new PQR and you can make same WPS for warmer side.On 11-Sep-2015 9:16 am, "Mahesh Mirje" <mahesh....@gmail.com> wrote:Hi expert's,
I have PQR with electrode E7018, AND IMPACT tested at -30deg. Lets say Observed energy values 20J
Can I make wps with E7018-1, FOR IMPACT REQUIRMENT at -45 deg.required energy values 20j,
AS per ASME weld metal produced by 7018-1, will provide 20j at -45 deg.
And HAZ ENERGY VALUES CAN BE CONTROLLED BY RESTRICTING HEAT INPUT.
Pls, clarify can I prepare wps for 7018-1 at -45 by restricting heat input as same used in 7018 PQR.
Regards
Mahesh
