Dear Mr. Pradip, Thanks a lot for sharing this useful information. In my knowledge & experience, as I would also like to share, Alloy 20 is the best suited material for sulphuric acid and is suggested by NACE RP. At higher concentrations I.e 98 to 100 % carbon steel also works fine provided the flow in the line is continuous. But in case of intermittent operations a phenomenon called hydrogen grooving takes place which has high potential of damaging the pipe and fittings. Also material selection depends upon the velocity with which the acid flows in the line. With best regards, Nishant Nair Senior Reliability Engineer (Static) Sent from mobile
