Dear Mohamed,
The Asme section V article T-276.2 (a) The thk on which IQI is based is the nominal single wall thickness + applicable estimated weld reinforcement not to exceed the maximum permitted by design code applicable. The actual measurement of the weld reinforcement is not required.
Now in your case thk 5.54 + 1.6 mm(check) = 7.14 mm.If you refer table T-276, correspondence wire type essential wire is 6 source side and film side essential wire is 5.
As per table T- 233.2 Set A & B both having common wire no 6. For DWDI pipe only source side placement of IQI allowed.
As long as if used Set B IQI and visible wire is 6 th one then required sensitivity is achieved. Acceptable if source side IQI used. Both IQI can be used Set A and Set B if required 6th wire source side visible and set A for film side.
Sensitivity is based on essential wire not on IQI Type as per table 276.
Please check the applicable design code ASME 31.3 and Sec Viii for applicable reinforcement for the thickness .
Regards
Shridev
