FW: [MW:16104] Base material substitution ? on WPS - S355 Group Materials (Carbon Steel)

Hi All,

 

Please assist/advise me to ensure that i am doing the right thing on my interpretation.

 

I have received 2 types of  WPS from a Client that has the following variables;

1.) 3F/4F SMAW

2.) Base Material : S355

3.) Thickness range : 8~16mm

4.) Filler Rod: E7018 (2.5mm dia)

 

My company does have a Fillet weld - WPS with our welders qualified, however the base material is EH-36, Not S355? Can i use our Company WPS (base Material at EH36) as a substitution WPS?   (Y/N answer)

 

Does EH36 and S355 belongs to the same group of Carbon Steel material. Both shows a Tensile Strength of about 51 KSI (355 MPa). Can anyone please help me with the table of the material group to refer to in the future (reference guide).

 

Help me as this crucial fro my current activities. With much thanks and appreciation.
