This is not welding elbow or pipe. In my experience, materials that you see are insulated pipe, usually is aluminum sheet cover the insulation material inside, the last layer is pipe-elbow

Pls , explain why such type of welding are done..

 

My doubt is "Why elbow is not used in this of welding to minimise welding time ,welding cost etc.."
