Yes, cl 341.3.2 does not give us acceptance criteria for misalignment. if client spec does not tell anything, then the welding procedure and technical design made by engineering will tell you the permitted misalignment.
if trimming is needed, misalignment should not exceed 1,6mm (see figure 328.4.3).
your welding procedure will also tell you the root gap and root face. 1-2mm is more advisable.

Dear experts,
 
                  Can someone expalain me the following
1) How much root gap should be kept for piping welding as per ASME B 31.3?
2) How much misalignment allowed as per ASME B 31.3? I have refered the above code but I couldn't find the above details.
